  1. 5 days isn't old on this forum
  2. What's wrong with that, at least then they will set the nick to something they want.
  3. When it comes down to the language itself, LUA is more used than PAWN. I've even seen commercial games using LUA scripting. When it comes down to scripting between MTA:SA and SA-MP a quick look at both mods wikis will show that MTA has a lot more functions and is most likely to be the mod with the more powerfull scripting capabilities.

    MTA and SAMP

Would also like to point out 1 thing. You can not compare playercounts directly. When you want to compare playercounts you got to make sure you use the same system for both mods. In this case http://www.game-monitor.com can provide stats for both mods and then you can see that the gap is a bit smaller compared to when you compare the number from the sa-mp site with the number from our server browser. btw, nice fair discussion here
  5. yes, off course there are sync issues. You are trying something that niether the OS or the game was designed to do. The only way to test with 2 players is by using 2 computers.

Ban lists do get cleaned up, but the only way to ever get deleted from that list is to stay under the radar long enough, and basicly asking to be unbanned is not staying below the radar.
  7. please use the search function or browse trough the recent topics, this has been asked multiple times already https://forum.multitheftauto.com/viewtop ... 06&t=25636

    Free Hosting

Locked due to misleading advertising. Free == Free.
  10. Yes, due to a change in the httpserver you are now required to set an ip in the mtaserver.conf . If you do not know the ip you can set it to 0.0.0.0 . <serverip>0.0.0.0</serverip>

    noob introduction

At the moment we use an external system to keep track of server. All servers are handled the same and we have no control over the system that keeps the master server list. While anyone can make a financial contribution to the project, that contribution has no effect on the status of the player or the server. We do not enforce any other kind of regulation (MTA is open source, freedom is important for us). The only agreements you have to approve are related to the source code.
  12. that is strange, it did compile on my deb5 box.
  13. Linux binaries can be found on http://linux.multitheftauto.com . If it still shows 1.0r3, do a hard refresh of that page (ctrl+F5). libcurl4-openssl-dev is not available on Debian 4, you need to ge libcurl3-dev . Also json-c will most likely fail. Go to ./vendor/json-c and execute make clean && autoreconf -fi && ./configure && make && make install && cd ../..
  14. Compiling the MTA-Server fails on some distributions while it is attempting to make json-c . To fix this do the following: cd vendor/json-c && make clean && autoreconf -fi && ./configure && make && make install && cd ../.. afterwards continue building mta with "make install"
  15. Error is fixed in 1.0.1. Either compile the source from scratch or wait for precompiled binaries, available this weekend.
  16. wait for a solution. Only thing you can do. Hopefully someone finds it soon.
  17. problem is present on both debian 4 and 5 with both version 1.0 and 1.0.1n . Reported it on the mantis bug tracker.
  18. download this package : http://linux.multitheftauto.com/dl/mta-1.0r3.tar.gz and try again. When the server starts it should report itself as version 1.0r3 and not 1.0 . It should be fixed then.
  19. As you are I'm sure aware, MTA was the first multiplayer mod for Grand Theft Auto, way back in 2003. Since then the team have built up substantial knowledge and understanding of GTA, and have always done their own research to develop the mod, not relying on external 'community' sources. As such, whether anyone else has found where field-of-view is located, for example, has little bearing on whether MTA found it. It's likely the MTA source contains a wide range of functions and exposed variables that weren't known to the community before the mod was open sourced. As I'm sure you also know, Rockstar have always been very supportive of Multi Theft Auto, and occasionally have provided information and guidance to assist with its development.
  20. The problem is solved in r1641 Those who compile their own server can patch it with that information, I probably won't have time to rebuild my packages until sunday.
  21. We know and are investigating the problem. Something is outdated but we don't know yet what
  22. No report from ppl that they spawn over the middle of the ocean?
